One of the great virtues of Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati is the large number of non-profit organizations that help and support the less fortunate in our community. Many of those that work and live at Valley View Temporary Furnished Housing invest their time and treasure into many of these excellent organizations.

As we enter into the Christmas season, we want to highlight four very worthy causes that deserve your attention and if so moved, your financial support.

Parish Kitchen

According to their website, in 1974 in the urban heart of Covington, Kentucky, Parish Kitchen opened its door and began offering a lunch-time meal, without cost, to all who entered. The same is true today and every day of the year.  365 days a year, a nutritional, lunch-time meal continues to be served without cost, without question, without judgement.

Mary Rose Mission

Like Parish Kitchen Mary Rose Mission is also a ministry the serves hot meals to those in need around but in Florence, KY. Their mission is simple…to love.  Their website goes on to say, “Our guests visit us because they are hungry.  Some are physically hungry, others are hungering for someone to listen to them, someone to ask “How are you?”,  someone to simply care.

Emergency Shelter of NKY

ESNKY opened its doors for the first time in the winter of 2008 as the region’s only cold weather shelter for adults. In the summer of 2010, they began providing shelter during the warmer months for men who are working towards achieving housing, income and improvement of health. They were started by a group of concerned citizens and business owners who wanted to ensure that our most vulnerable population had a place to go to during our coldest weather.

The Henry Hosea House

The Henry Hosea House provides a safe environment in which to satisfy clients need for daily, nutrition, support, healthy guidance and social interaction. This positive atmosphere enhances their capacity for self-help and self-sufficiency.

As you take time during this season, please remember their are those in our community that could use a helping hand. Reach out and give to any of these worthy charities. Thank you.
